WHAT IS FASCIA? Fascia is where most pain starts. It is the network of connective tissue that holds our bodies together. When we are stressed, it tightens and constricts. When we relax, it opens up and becomes fluid. To give you a visual of fascia, just imagine the web that holds chicken skin to a chicken breast. It is made of water and collagen and allows our whole body to move and glide smoothly, provided you are well hydrated, otherwise, it might be more like velcro and create knots. It is not only interwoven in and around bones, muscles, organs, but also holds trauma, stress, and emotions. OUTLINE OF THE CLASS During the first 30min, we lead you through a combination of stretches and breathing techniques to reset the nervous system and shed tension you have been holding onto for hours, days, weeks or more. Then we take 15min to share and talk about ways you can make your lifestyle one of healing, reducing physical and emotional stress. TUNING IN Inspired by the holistic approach of The Human Garage, the goal of our workshop is to help you understand, but most importantly feel the voice of your body. As we move through a combination of breaths and stretches, you will provide a safe space for you body to start healing itself. IS IT FOR YOU?
